Personality: Though passionate about protecting her island, Sam seems to be blasé and uncaring when first approached. This personality trait is true to an extent- in a lot of cases, she really couldn't care less. However, anyone under her command, including the inhabitants of Lutari Island, she cares for like family and she will take care of them to the best of her ability, although some probably don't always agree with her methods as she can veer into an iron fist kind of rule. Where enemies are concerned, she is merciless and in battle will fight with her all. She is a powerful fighter and a shrewd strategist, thanks to her years as a pirate. She enjoyed the war for the fighting and the simple irony that criminals could suddenly become heroes. 

History: The illegitimate daughter of a Pirate Lutari and a Red Lutari he took prisoner, it didn't come as much of a surprise to anyone that she followed in her father’s footsteps. A rough and merciless pirate of the high seas, she gained the name of “Rose Red” in her early years, as she was often described as “pretty as a rose with twice the usual amount of thorns,” though the "pretty" half was before she cut her hair, her numerous scars, and her time on the ocean under the sun tanned her skin to leather. Holding loyalty to no one but her homeland (just like her father) she ended her pirating days to fight with her kin in Lutari Island when the war started, only to find the island woefully ill prepared for war. Easily talking her way into a high ranking position, she helped organize the training of recruits so they actually had a decent military. Despite her efforts, however, she was unable to stop the war from using up most of the island's resources.
